Sales for residential properties in Pinellas County broke the current trend in May 2014 and ended up being the highest month of sales since 2006. This is interesting because this is the first time since September of last year where we were above the same month in the previous year and last May was the highest month since 2006 up to that point. Even though we weren’t above the month in the previous year for the last 7 months we were still very close and definitely in the same, higher range. Inventory took a slight dip but still did not drop down as low as it was during the months of March thru August of last year.
This still indicates a strong seller’s market with continuing strong sales and low inventory but a very slight improvement in inventory over last year in moving toward a more balanced market.
